Road-testing my favorite roadster on the outskirts of San Diego, March 2017.

I’ll assume you landed here thanks to Google, or perhaps because I sent you this link while trying to sell you a story idea. I am a freelance writer and editor with more than a decade of experience. Since 2004, my byline has appeared on U.S. News & World Report, HowStuffWorks, Autobytel, Autoweb, The Truth About Cars, Discovery Channel Online, VWvortex, and Seven Days (Burlington, VT). Several of my HowStuffWorks articles have also served as the basis for episodes of the site’s “CarStuff” and award-winning, iTunes Top 20 “Stuff You Should Know” podcasts.

Other experience includes several years as a senior editor and QA specialist at a marketing agency, a proofreading specialist at a publishing firm, and a public relations intern and professional model builder at LEGO Systems, Inc. So, though cars are my first love and the foundation of my freelance career, there are few topics I can’t tackle.

When I’m not writing, you’ll most likely find me at the gym or the bellydance studio, exploring Chicago on my scooter, out on the lake with my paddleboard, making a fresh batch of home-brewed beer, or on my back porch with a book.
